Blind spot: an obscuration of the visual field.
Obscure: 1. not clear or plain; ambiguous, vague, or uncertain. 2. of little or no prominence, note, fame, or distinction. 3. far from public notice, worldly affairs, or important activities; remote; retired.
At The Blind Spot we strive to uncover the truth behind the headlines and to present the stories that are hidden from sight. We want to stop looking through the glass, darkly. To turn our gaze away from the construct projected by the mass media. To the real people and vital issues that are not being seen or understood.
We like to think of this website and our various channels as inclusive spaces where people can convey their experiences and ideas, support one another and talk about social, political, community and disability issues. With a multi-media reach, including audio, video and the written word, we can engage people in the format(s) of their choice, giving them a diverse range of content and a platform to express themselves and relate their experiences.
We care deeply about the issues facing the world today. If you do too and are interested in being a part of this project, or if you have a story to tell, please let us know.
